An AI side project

Created at 2025-04-29 12:36:30 (1 week ago)

So i've been busy for a few days on creating a side project. Mostly to clear my head on the current gosub code i'm working on a regular basis.

Since i'm reading so many stories about people creating their apps and sites through the help of 100% AI, i've decided to put this to a test. I had an idea (a few years ago actually), and I've tried to let chatGPT and deepseek generate most of the code for it. Did it work? Well... yes and no.. I will try and setup a blogpost on adayinthelifeof.nl later to explain in more details.

But, the result is done, and the first version is live at https://disaster-strikes.com It's a helpful email system that will mail you at certain times a disaster scenario where things happen. Your phone could have been stolen, you could have been locked outside your house, you might got stranded at an airpoirt on holiday).. Your goal is to see how well prepared you are for this disaster and supply feedback which results in a score.

if everything goes according to plan, (or not, actually).. it will help you prepare for common and uncommon scenario's that might happen one day.

So, since this project is finished, I want to polish it up a bit, get some beta testers on it before i'm going to release it to the "public".. always fun to do that, because i have no way what "releasing to the public" means, except for submitting a link to hackernews :(

for the next week / couple of weeks: i hope to pick up more stuff on Gosub.. trying to see if we can connect the new CSS system and the rendering pipeline.. It goes slow, as we need to change a lot of things because of the way the current rendering pipeline is implemented, so I guess it will keep us busy for a while..
